Incumbents establish the priority of IT projects within the department or functional area(s) and often develop solutions to complex technical problems independently. This class differs from the IT Manager I class in that the latter is typically responsible for a single IT function in a County department. It differs from the IT Manager III class in that the latter is typically responsible for multiple IT functional areas either countywide or in large departments with a large IT staff (typically twelve or more).
