Security Alarm/ Neighborhood Video Partnership

Neighborhood Video Partnership(NVP)

The goal of the Neighborhood Video Partnership is to deter crime and promote public safety through the mutual collaboration between the Sheriff’s Office and the community we serve. It provides our office with a volunteer database of video resources which can be used to search for investigative clues. Video surveillance is one of the best methods for apprehending criminals and convicting suspects who are caught in the act of committing crime. Registering your camera system not only helps deter crime, but assists in the overall crime prevention strategy in your neighborhood. If you are interested in becoming a Neighborhood Video Partner register your system here.

Security Alarm

The inefficiency resulting from responses by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office to false alarms detracts from its ability to respond to bona fide emergencies. In order to improve the ability of the Sheriff to effectively respond to law enforcement needs, and to encourage alarm system users, lessors, sellers and manufacturers to better construct and maintain alarm systems in the unincorporated areas of the County, an alarm permit requirement is imposed on all alarm system users. A copy of the Santa Cruz County Code which regulates Security Alarm Systems can be found at http://www.codepublishing.com/ca/santacruzcounty/ > Title 7 > Chapter 7.84 Security Alarm Systems. Please register your Alarm System here.
